Yeah, and so I updated Wordpress to the latest verion, currently 2.5. It was really easy. I used the Wordpress Automatic Upgrade Plugin. I highly highly highly recommend it. What I don’t recommend…is upgrading. It’s not for everyone. The great folks at WP debuted an awesome new interface and it is awesome. The dashboard has been completely revamped. And that’s where it gets a little tricky.
Now, I don’t have a problem with the new dashboard personally. Yeah, everything isn’t where I am used it being, but I’ll adjust. Everything is logically placed. They did do a superb job. In fact, I’m used to it already. But I have clients who use this lovely software. And let’s just say…this is a huge learning curve for most of them. I wish there was a button that says “go back to old dashboard” and yet incorporated the updated features. This would be the best of both worlds.
It has given me an opportunity to whack away at the core code of WP tho…which has been greatly satisfying. So far, both versions have been easier to tweak than I thought they would be. So much coding fun!
